Community Garden Kick-Off Event is May 11

Garden plots are ready for planting! Join the City of Hopkins for a FREE, fun-filled morning at the fourth annual Community Garden Kick-Off event at the community gardens in Valley Park on Saturday, May 11, from 9 to 11 a.m. Community partners offering gardening advice, free giveaways and more include Hennepin County Master Gardeners, Hopkins Community Education, Route 1 Farms, Hopkins fire and police departments, the Hopkins Park Board, Hopkins Public Works, the Hopkins Activity Center, and the ICA Food Shelf. And returning this year: free coffee from the No Milk coffee cart! The event is open to all, no registration is required to attend.


Nomination Deadline for Cops N Kids Fishing is May 20

Do you know a Hopkins resident or student between the ages of 8 and 11 who would benefit from police mentorship? The Hopkins Police Department is accepting nominations for Cops N Kids Fishing coming up on Thursday, June 13. All nominations are due by Monday, May 20, at 8 a.m. Learn more and submit and online nomination form.  


Registration Open for Police Department's 
Summer Youth Program

The Hopkins Police Department is looking for students to participate in the 2024 Summer Youth Program. The Summer Youth Program provides hands-on learning about law enforcement with local police, and touches on topics including life skills, community outreach, and sports and games. This FREE eight-week program begins June 19 and runs through August 15. The deadline to register is May 31. Learn more and submit an application form.
