DEPOT YOUTH ADVISORY BOARD ANNIVERSARY PARTY 
IS NOVEMBER 18

The Depot Youth Advisory Board is hosting an all ages gala to celebrate their 25th anniversary on Saturday, November 18, from 5 to 10 p.m. The event is black tie, and there will be food, live music and a silent auction. Tickets can be purchased online through Friday. Day-of tickets will be sold at the door. Students 18 and under are $5, 18+ is $10.  


Cops N Kids Shopping Nominations Due 
November 22

Do you know a Hopkins student in grades 6-9 who would benefit from police mentorship? The Hopkins Police Department is now accepting nominations for Cops N Kids Shopping coming up on Wednesday, December 13. Nominated students will join Hopkins police officers after school to shop for gifts for their families, followed by dinner and gift wrapping at the Hopkins Fire Station. All nominations are due by Wednesday, November 22, at 8 a.m. Learn more and fill out a nomination application.


Brush and Yard Waste Drop-Off Site Closes November 27

The free yard waste/brush drop-off site (3100 Hopkins Crossroad) will be open Mondays and Wednesdays from 1 to 5 p.m. and Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. through Monday, November 27, weather permitting. After November 27, the site will close for the season. Learn what's accepted at the drop-off site. The last day for yard waste pick-up (with yard waste stickers that can be purchased at City Hall or Public Works) will be on November 22. 


2023 Municipal Election Results

The Hopkins City Council on Tuesday, November 14 canvassed the election results of the 2023 municipal election. Patrick Hanlon was elected Mayor for a two-year term. Ben Goodlund and Brian Hunke were elected to four-year terms on the Hopkins City Council. A recount has been requested for one of the Hopkins City Council seats. The recount has been scheduled for Monday, November 20, at 10 a.m., in the third floor training room at the Hopkins Fire Station, 101 17th Avenue South. The recount will go until finished. PubliC Meeting on 2024 Budget is December 4

Interested in how your tax dollars are spent? Attend the 2024 Budget Hearing on Monday, December 4, at 6:30 p.m., at Hopkins City Hall. The 2024 Budget will be presented along with the proposed 2024 tax levy. The council set a preliminary budget and levy in September, which will appear on the notice of proposed taxes mailed to every tax payer. City Council and staff have continued to work on the 2024 budget and will present the most current version of the budget and tax levy. This is the final opportunity to provide input on the budget before it is approved. All input is welcome.
