Community Photo Contest Submission Deadline
is TodayThe deadline to submit a photo in the City’s 2023 Community Photo Contest is today, October 13. Submissions must be captured by a Hopkins resident and taken within the City of Hopkins. Finalists will be uploaded to the City’s Facebook page Monday, October 23, and the City's Facebook followers will have until Monday, October 30 to vote on their favorites. 17TH AVENUE DEMONSTRATION EVENT IS OCTOBER 14The City is hosting a demonstration event for the 17th Avenue Improvements Project on Saturday, October 14, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., on 17th Avenue between 3rd Street N to 4th Street N. Stakes and striping will be installed across the block to demonstrate how the sidewalks, boulevards, bicycle facility, parking lane and drive lanes would be arranged for one of the three concepts that’s currently under consideration. HOPKINS FIRE DEPARTMENT OPEN HOUSE IS OCTOBER 14The Hopkins Fire Department will host its annual Open House at the Hopkins Fire Station, 101 17th Avenue S, on Saturday, October 14, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Stop by and enjoy fire truck and bucket rides, live fire demonstrations, free hot dogs and popcorn, and lots of hands-on fun. |

Halloween in Hopkins is October 28Break out your costumes a couple days early and head downtown for Halloween in Hopkins on Saturday, October 28, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., featuring trick-or-treating along Mainstreet, a Haunted Jail Tour at the Hopkins Police Department, a dog costume contest, kids games and more. |

Brush/Yard Waste Drop-Off Site Hours Change The free brush and yard waste drop-off site is now open Mondays and Wednesdays from 1 to 5 p.m. and Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. The drop-off site will close for the season after November 20.
